Past & Present

I grew up in a small town of 941 people where everyone knew everyone. It was a picturesque and innocent place to live, and my creative side had many opportunities to develop.

My first camera was a Kodak Ektralite 10 which, back in the 1980's, could be had for under $20. I shot everything with that little pocket-sized wonder, and still have old rolls of 110 film around. In the late 1990's, digital cameras changed everything. Over the past decade, I've used Nikon cameras to create my images, and I love what they're capable of doing.

Outside of photography, my other interests are flying, music and personal development. At 15, I flew an airplane before ever driving a car and am now a licensed pilot. I've written music & played keyboards, "some" guitar and sang with rock bands.

I've been in Colorado since 2006 and love to explore this unique & diverse area. There are endless scenes of beauty to photograph here, yet my passion is photographing people  - especially people doing interesting things. Personally, I'm pretty light-hearted and photography is, to me, one of the most fun things I've ever done.

For me, when it comes to photography, it's not just snapping a picture. It's more emotional - capturing memories, connecting emotion and beauty. My styles range from dramatic to journalistic, from glamour & fashion to soft beauty.
